When the sun sets on Shanghai, a city of more than 4,000 skyscrapers, it lights up both literally and metaphorically. With a population of more than 23 million, the city is always abuzz even well into the night. It’s also host to China’s largest gaming convention, China Joy; a hub for online gaming; and, a nexus for esports-- including home to many pro teams.
To reinforce Riot’s culture in our Shanghai office, we’ve done away with the traditional hierarchical title structures common in China. Titles don’t really matter at any of Riot’s offices, but we chose to take this extra step for Riot Games Shanghai to foster a space where teamwork thrives. We believe that removing this constraint will promote individual autonomy, ownership, collaboration, and a focus on results. We promise you won’t need a title at Riot to make an impact.
Riot Games Shanghai will be our new home in Mainland China and supporting players across the continent. We’re building out teams in Esports and Merchandising now but check back for more teams and roles soon.
