Community Manager
As one of the most popular PC games today, League of Legends is reshaping PC gaming and core gamers perception of virtual goods. Riot Games (named a Top 30 developer by Game Developer Magazine), the publisher and developer of League of Legends, is experiencing a period of rapid growth, doubling the size of the company in the past year. With several million players in their first game across the US and Europe, and numerous awards (including IGN.com’s Readers' Choice for Best Multiplayer Game for League of Legends), Riot Games has pioneered new ground with their debut title and is continuing to aggressively expand.
Riot Games currently has a great opportunity for a Community Manager for League of Legends. The Community Manager will assist the Lead Community Manager in building a strong, vibrant web community around League of Legends.
The ideal candidate should have experience building and managing a team of community professionals across multiple regions, as well as experience planning web content and features. They should have exceptional project management skills, people leadership/management skills, and an extremely positive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of a team of community professionals
- Coordinate with production, design, web, marketing, and other internal departments to ensure that the community team and players stay informed of company priorities and activities
- Help define and maintain the community strategy including methods for engagement, moderation policies, content building, and outreach initiatives
- Communicate directly with players, building strong relationships and maintaining a visible external presence
- Review, author, and coordinate the release of external and internal messaging
- Monitor discussion forums and other communication media to identify common player issues and discussion patterns
- Advocate internally on behalf of the player ensuring that company and development priorities are informed of player needs
- Conceptualize and execute community-facing initiatives including contests, volunteer programs, offline events, convention presence, and email campaigns
- Coordinate with production and web development teams to help plan and develop community and website features (forums, content systems, etc.)
- Compile and distribute Daily, Weekly, and Monthly community-related metric reports ensuring upwards visibility as well as helping inform what metrics are valuable
Requirements:
- 3+ years of Community Management experience, and at least one year in a leadership role
- Must have a solid understanding of new media, social networking, and cutting edge community tools and techniques, and must be personally involved in at least one social media platform
- Must have a proven and demonstrable track record for managing teams of community professionals, as well as building communities focused around a brand or product
- Passionate for people, with an emphasis on the desire to solve their problems
- Hard-working, goal-oriented individual with a strong passion for online gaming, online communities and social networking
- Must have strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate others and provide clear direction, as well as manage career growth
- Passionate about League of Legends and its community
