LAN Center Program Coordinator

Riot Games currently has a great opportunity for a LAN Center Coordinator for League of Legends. The LAN Center Coordinator will assist the Lead Community Manager in building a support program that will help expand our offline presence, and make it easier for players to play League of Legends with each other in real life environments.

The ideal candidate should have experience working for or with internet cafes or major offline events (Dreamhack, QuakeCon, etc), also effectively expand the offline community for League of Legends utilizing iCafes and LAN Centers, in addition to helping grow support programs that incentivize local businesses and franchises to host League of Legends promotions and tournaments. Success in this role relies on solid understanding of a self-sustaining volunteer structure, combined with the ability to develop creative and innovative program growth strategies to maximize the support that Riot Games can provide in local communities.  This candidate should also have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, strong work ethic and an extremely positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and manage collegiate program volunteers responsible for promoting League of Legends through various college campus events, both competitive, casual, and experimental
  • Develop, document and train volunteers and collegians in collegiate membership recruitment processes, resources and tools.
  • Collaborate with our Collegiate Coordinator to ensure that LAN Centers near college campuses are effectively supported
  • Create the official Riot Games, LAN-Party-in-a-box kit to support LAN centric businesses interested in running League of Legends events.
  • Help organize our presence at larger LAN events in North America and Europe
  • Coordinate with production, development, and marketing teams to develop resources for internet cafes, gaming centers and community run LAN events

Requirements:

  • Candidates with an AA or BA degree are preferred for this position
  • Have frequently patronized or worked at an iCafe or LAN Center
  • Must have at 2-3 years in a Community or Program/Project Management role
  • Have a solid understanding of new media, social networking, and cutting edge community tools and techniques, and must be personally involved in at least one social media platform
  • Hard-working, goal-oriented individual with a strong passion for online gaming, online communities, social networking and web content
  • Passionate for League of Legends and its community
