VFX Artist Intern

Riot Games is seeking a Visual Effects Artist Intern for League of Legends. The ideal VFX Artist Intern has an eye for dramatic visual effects and a deep desire to learn and grow as a VFX artist.  The Particle Artist Intern will join a dynamic team of artists and designers, and will bring a familiarity with League of Legends and with real-time particle systems to create unique and compelling new particles for champion skins.  He or she will also work with a team of VFX artists to optimize particle systems and improve source control of particle content.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on new Champion skins (color changes, swapping meshes and hooking up particles)
  • Participate in Champion Skin ideation meetings
  • Optimizing particle systems to take fewer game resources
  • Oversee, organize and follow-up on source control of particle content
  • Play new skinned Champions in company playtests to help evaluate skins for valuable feedback

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with real-time particle systems (UDK cascade, particle illusion, etc)
  • Good skills with Maya and Photoshop are a definite plus
  • A portfolio of awesome visual effects
  • A great eye for dramatic visual effects
