How we're helping

The winning organization and recipient of $100,000 was American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the runner-up was Korean Association for Safe Communities (KASC) with a grant of $25,000.

AFSP apply the grant money and apply it to their ambitious Project 2025 plan which aims to reduce the rate of suicide by 20% in the US by 2025. Project 2025 targets four critical prevention areas and will work with strategic partners to accelerate the acceptance and adoption of evidence-based suicide prevention strategies.

KASC is using the grant money to further disaster safety education to children in Korea. Through their programs and local partners, KASC aims to hold fire and earthquake preparedness training at 40 facilities to regional children welfare centers.
