As an Insights Manager for Central Product, you will collaborate with our partners in the Insights discipline – the group of researchers, analysts, data scientists, and strategists responsible for gathering the data that will enable Rioters to make difficult decisions with confidence. You will also be part of an interdisciplinary team and work closely with Rioters from other disciplines (design, production, product management, etc.) to solicit, coordinate, and oversee studies that will inform the features, systems, and experiences of our products. Your knowledge management background coupled with your deep understanding of data accessibility will ensure that you’re able to communicate project parameters to our network of partners and manage your roadmap to deliver high value insights on time and within budgetary constraints. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Central Product.



Insight Generation

  • Own the Central Product insights team roadmap
  • Identify and investigate key problem or opportunity spaces for Riot Game Teams, and implement tactical recommendations to help the teams solve these challenges
  • Work with product leadership to define a set of concrete business questions that could be best answered with Central Product’s resources and knowledge base
  • Create an insights plan and solicit external and / or internal partners where appropriate to undertake studies that will answer those key questions
  • Manage Central Product’s external vendor relationships to ensure a healthy and productive collaboration exists between Rioters and our partners

Insight Visualization & Accessibility

  • Develop specifications for Central Product’s insight visualization, reporting & dashboards
  • Gather requirements from our internal customers, prioritizing data visualizations likely to be the most impactful for Riot
  • Mentor an insights team in storytelling with data, prioritizing thoroughness in building a narrative over quantity of insights
  • Be an evangelist for insight generation at Riot, developing a program that will foster a culture of democratized learning, always striving to improve data accessibility for disciplines outside of the insights craft


Knowledge Management

  • Track & collate knowledge development from across the organization
  • Create programs to ensure applicable knowledge is shared with the teams most likely to benefit from those insights
  • Work across Riot departments to evaluate the output quality and cost efficiency of insight initiatives, ensuring product leaders are receiving accurate and timely insights to justify initiative expenses
  • Oversee the team responsible for sharing and archival of Central Product insight initiatives, and own the curation of the Central Product knowledge base


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in organization knowledge creation & insight management
  • Extensive experience managing external partners from RFP through project completion
  • Experience managing leadership stakeholders to establish research priorities and study requirements
  • Expert at translating leadership stakeholder requests into actionable project specifications
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent insights initiatives and balancing organization priorities with external & internal partners
  • Confident in storytelling with data and interfacing with product leads on next steps
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with the strong ability to collaborate effectively at all levels and departments of the organization.
  • Demonstrated product affinity and strong relationships with product leaders
  • Able to champion the player experience and drive innovative analyses used by EPs to better serve the needs of our players
