From animations to illustrations, cinematics to comics, characters to environments, we work as a team to put players first.

As part of the Environment Art team, you will channel your knowledge of concepting, modeling, and texturing to help tell stories through visually compelling environments. Working within both design and technical constraints you will build optimized environments that enhance the purpose and mood of the game. Your craft expertise and eye for structure, form, shape language, and design will help develop fantastic new worlds for our players to explore.

As an Environment Artist on the Gameplay Modes team you will report to an Art Lead. You will join the Modes team in the development of Team Fight Tactics, Howling Abyss (ARAM), Nexus Blitz, Ultra Rapid Fire, and much more. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create 2.5D and 3D assets ranging from hard surface structures to organic foliage
  • Create optimized low poly game assets
  • Create hand painted textures
  • Interpret concept designs while taking into account technical and design constraints such as draw calls, poly counts, texture memory limits, and gameplay boundaries
  • Use your sense of composition, layout, and color to push the environment mood to its fullest potential
  • Communicate with other disciplines to ensure all assets are performant

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with modeling, sculpting, and texturing programs such as Maya, Zbrush, Substance, and Photoshop
  • Experience creating hand painted textures
  • Demonstrate understanding of optimizing low poly game assets
  • Demonstrate understanding of composition, layout, and color theory

Desired Qualifications:

  • Create concepts and paintovers when needed
  • Experience mentoring other artists
