Player Support at Riot Games exists to exceed the service expectations of players worldwide, delivering millions of high-quality support interactions that reflect Riot’s values in every experience.

As the Risk & Controls Program Manager, you will stand up and lead Player Support’s Risk & Controls program from the ground up. You’ll assess our current risk posture, identify where controls exist (and where they don’t), and build a prioritized, actionable roadmap to mitigate the risks that matter most to players and Riot.

This role is highly partnered. You’ll work closely with Player Support leadership, Compliance, Product, Tech, and vendor teams to make sure risks are clearly understood, ownership is explicit, and controls are practical, scalable, and effective.

This is a program-creation role, not just a maintenance role — ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, exercises strong judgment, and can turn complex risk signals into clear priorities and momentum.

This is a 12 month contract role and will be based on site in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program setup & CSA ownership: Stand up the Player Support Risk & Controls program and lead a Controls Self-Assessment (CSA) to define scope, methodology, and operating cadence in partnership with Player Support leadership.
  • Current-state assessment: Lead a comprehensive audit, with input from Player Support leaders and subject matter experts, to identify existing business and operational risks, current controls, and named control owners across Player Support.
  • Risk categorization & prioritization: Evaluate and classify risks through the CSA based on severity, impact, and likelihood to determine where internal controls are required.
  • Gap identification & roadmap: Use CSA findings to identify priority gaps in controls and ownership, and build a clear roadmap to address them, including implementing controls for at least two critical risks in H2 2025.
  • Control design & enablement: Partner with Product Tech, IT and Operations to define and enable controls such as enhanced QA monitoring, critical error tracking, improved control reporting, strengthened access management, and expanded tooling logging.
  • Governance & compliance alignment: Establish a sustainable governance framework—including ownership, resourcing, intake, and reporting—and align the program with Riot’s broader risk and controls strategy in partnership with Compliance.
  • Program kickoff & run mode: Transition the Risk & Controls program into run mode by activating initial controls, assigning owners, and standing up governance and reporting to track early impact by Q3 2026.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience standing up or leading programs in risk, controls, compliance, or complex operations.
  • Strong track record of conducting assessments, synthesizing ambiguous inputs, and turning them into clear priorities and roadmaps.
  • Comfortable operating with senior leaders and facilitating decisions on risk, tradeoffs, and sequencing.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Tech, Compliance, and vendor partners.
  • Familiarity with support tooling, access management, logging, or audit processes.
  • Bias for action, strong judgment, and a player-first mindset.

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, collaborative spirit and choices that focus on your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!

At Riot Games, we put players first. That mission drives every decision in our quest to create games and experiences that make it better to be a player. Whether you’re working directly on a new player-facing experience or you’re supporting the company as a whole, everyone at Riot is part of our mission. And just like in our games, we’re better when we work together. Our goal is to create collaborative teams where you are empowered to bring your unique perspective everyday. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to work, we’re looking forward to your application
