The Global Events Lead Producer (P4) is accountable for translating Riot’s product strategy and event vision into world-class live experiences. You will oversee defining the end-to-end event direction for major global esports events, guiding cross-functional teams, agency partners, and vendors to deliver a cohesive, player-first experience. This role requires excellence in creative interpretation, operational leadership, financial ownership, cross-functional communication, and experiential execution. You will support strategic creation with Product and Senior Leadership but the focus of your role is translating goals, requests, and needs out to the larger team that will collaborate on execution. You will set the tone for the larger, cross-discipline team of internal and external partners fostering a collaborative and positive environment while upholding Riot’s values.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Translate Product-led strategy, experience pillars, and goals into actionable event plans and creative/operational direction.
- ● Partner with Product Leads, Publishing, CSLT, Broadcast, Competitive Operations, and cross-functional teams to align on goals, KPIs, and success criteria.
- ● Provide structured communication to stakeholders, maintaining consistent feedback loops, milestone reporting, and expectation alignment.
- ● Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert (SME) on global event production, integrating fan experience, broadcast needs, competitive integrity, and venue constraints.
- ● Lead cross-functional partners through clear decision pathways, approvals, and workflows.
- ● Proactively address status towards milestones and flag risks associated with missing deadlines.
- Event Planning, Production & Operational Excellence
- Partner with Physical Production Lead to oversee end-to-end production for assigned global esports events, including vendor sourcing, creative approvals, experiential integration, production schedules, live show execution, and post-event retrospectives.
- Lead regular team meetings and post-mortem evaluations, providing prioritization and ensuring consistent, transparent communication & collaboration.
- Manage, approve, and create if necessary all workback calendars, dependencies, and operational documentation.
- Manage venue site visits, space vetting, and coordinating cross-functional needs. ○ Support future planning, as needed, in the sourcing of venues, negotiating city partnerships and contracting venues.
- Develop documentation such as RAPID or Roles & Responsibilities charts, staffing plans, organizational flows, and onsite protocols to ensure best-in-class operational clarity.
- Maintain alignment with Finance, Legal, Event Logistics for Global Security and Health & Safety to ensure compliance, safety, crisis-readiness, and regulatory adherence.
- Understand and participate in emergency response planning in pre-production and onsite. Communicate with comms and stakeholder escalations as needed.
- Partner with Event Logistics to develop overall guest experience including competitor, talent, and VIP experience flows, ensuring seamless operational integration.
- Lead agency and vendor teams with clarity, accountability, and operational rigor.
- Budget, Vendor, & Resource Management
- Set prioritization for budget spend in line with Product and event goals.
- Track and report on budget allocation in partnership with Line Producer and Production Lead including providing regular status updates to protect against cost overruns.
- Track and advise the Finance team on tax incentives and rebates, as applicable, to ensure Riot is maximising potential financial incentives.
- Ensure business due diligence with vendor sourcing, onboarding and management including conducting Request for Proposals (RFPs) as needed for cost efficiency.
- Source and manage vendors, freelancers, contractors, and specialized partners through RFP processes, contract oversight, and performance/feedback evaluation.
- Collaborate with agency partners on ticketing strategy, pricing recommendations, forecasting, reporting, and operational distribution.
- Proactively develop event resourcing needs and recommendations across staffing, tools, operational support, creative support, and external vendors.
- As applicable, recruit, screen and onboard to support the staffing needs for each event in consultation with leadership and HR.
- Creative Development & Experience Design
- Translate game tone, product strategy, and event objectives into immersive live experiences, anchoring design decisions in player-first values.
- Lead creative development of experiential elements in partnership with internal teams and Publishing including scenic builds, fan activations, thematic integrations, community areas, and con-style programming.
- Partner with Creative, Broadcast, and agency teams on storyboards, show flow, multimedia integrations, special effects, player walkouts, and audience interaction moments.
- Champion accessibility, audience flow, clarity, and navigational user experience throughout site and experience design.
- Integrate DE&I, community representation, and inclusivity principles into the live experience.
- Cultivate an industry network and relationships including freelancers, vendors, venues, agencies
- Track experiential industry trends, understand global fan culture shifts and apply insights to event design to always consider the player-first experience.
- Focus on developing creative event experiences with sustainability in mind through design choices, waste reduction, and environmental compliance.
- Insights, Metrics, Reporting & Iteration
- Define experiential success criteria in partnership with Insights, Product, and Publishing.
- Understand business context of event performance and provide data where applicable such as attendance, sentiment, operational efficiency, and broadcast integration.
- Conduct structured retrospectives, producing actionable insights and future recommendations; share cross-product and share event over event.
- Maintain historical documentation to support multi-year planning and future creative/operational improvements
Required Qualifications:
- 6 - 8 years of experience in live event production, or large-scale experiential leadership including management of agency work and brand-side stakeholders.
- Proven track record of lead producing global fan-forward events for broadcast.
- Strong experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and complex vendor ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into creative and operational outcomes while expanding the opportunity space.
- Experience producing events with 10,000+ attendees and international operational components.
- Strategic problem-solver with a high standard for detail, creative storytelling, and operational rigor.
- Solutions oriented approach focused on identifying problems in advance and leading with proactive recommendations and contingency planning.
- Skilled at cross-functional alignment across global teams, multiple time zones, and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Able to build, implement and execute workflows and best-in-class frameworks focused on creating efficiencies, good business practices and financial due diligence.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including synthesizing complex topics into digestible, concise formats for senior leadership.
- Proficient reading, writing and speaking English.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Airtable (Riot’s preferred platforms).
- Ability to operate in hybrid work environments and travel internationally for up to five weeks at a time, approximately 30% of total work time.
Desired Qualifications:
- Deep fluency in gaming IPs, esports tournament logistics, broadcast production, and technical show operations.
- Familiarity with the Riot community, meta, and fan culture.
- Understanding of global fan culture, regional nuances, and experiential design trends.
- Additional language proficiency and experience producing events internationally.
- Passion for building player-first experiences that combine fandom, competition, and narrative immersion

- (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $133,700.00 - $188,000.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
