Internal Event Producer
Job Id: REQ-0009673
Riot’s Internal Comms & Events team members endeavor to shape our internal environment by crafting communications, events, and programs that celebrate Riot’s playful and passionate culture. We cover everything vital to internal messaging, culture, and work across all teams to create a passionate and ongoing, lively relationship between Riot and Rioters on the things that matter most to players and to us. We love games and enjoy delivering resonant stories and experiences that connect us to players, our products, and our mission.
As an Internal Event Producer, you’ll help create internal events and experiences that drive product connection, cultural engagement, and strategic alignment for Rioters around the globe. You’ll primarily be involved with strategic events and play experiences including company-wide hackathons (Thunderdome) , product engagement events, senior leadership events, internal playtests, internal game tournaments (Riot Rumble), and more. You’ll be responsible for the full event lifecycle - ensuring events and experiences connect back to Riot’s overall mission, as well as owning end-to-end production. You’ll lead cross-functions working teams and work closely with partners across the organization (Comms, Technology, Esports, Product Teams, Insights, Travel, Global Workplace Experience, Security, and more), as well as build working relationships with vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to define event objectives, creative direction, production requirements, and the overall experience.
- Lead multiple medium to large events simultaneously with variable complexity, nurturing them from inception to completion. Support other team members on their events as needed.
- Lead project management to keep projects organized, on track, and within budget. Define and manage production and execution timelines, milestones, tasks, and budget; ensure all team members are delivering quality, timely results that continue to meet goals and raise the bar.
- Oversee all facets of event production including registration, communications, branding & design, internal marketing, audio/visual, venue/vendor management, space planning, food & beverage, travel, transportation, onsite execution, and more.
- Own the creation and ongoing management of internal event communications—including emails, Slack messages, intranet content, digital signage, and other key messaging—from pre-event promotion through on-site attendee comms and post-event follow-up.
- Contribute ideas, best practices, and process improvements that help level up our team and raise the bar for internal events at Riot.
Required Qualifications:
- You’ve been working within the event management space for 5+ years; ideally your experience indexes deep in internal and/or gaming related experiences.
- You have a strong working knowledge and experience managing all elements of event production and how to pull these elements together to keep the project running smoothly and create a great experience.
- You are a strong communicator, both written and verbal. You can craft clear, engaging internal messaging around events and experiences.
- You’re a creative problem solver that can easily identify and mitigate risks with robust planning and attention to detail. When things go wrong, you're tilt-proof and can shift priorities or deploy contingency plans, often with little notice.
- You value learning and growth, using data, feedback, and reflection to assess the impact of your work and improve over time.
- You’re able to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining organization, focus, and executional excellence.
- You’re a highly collaborative team player who is able to work under pressure and roll up your sleeves to get the job done with a positive attitude.
- You exercise great discretion as it relates to confidential and sensitive information.
- You have flexibility to work on campus, evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Riot’s products and the video game industry.
- Experience executing video game tournaments, rules, brackets, and more.
- Experience with working on internal events and programs, ideally at a tech, gaming, or creative entertainment company.
- Experience with large-scale events for 3,000+ attendees
