Maria Egan is the Global Head of Music at Riot where she spearheads global music curation for games, marketing, esports, and TV/film projects while overseeing our music release strategy, artist relationships, and label partnerships. Under her leadership, Riot Games Music (RGM) has amassed a catalog of nearly 1,000 songs including 11 original Worlds anthems, which have collectively amassed over 10 billion global streams.
She also develops the creative strategy for Riot’s location-based experiences that bring Riot’s worlds to fans all over the globe through real-life, mixed-reality, and virtual experiences.
Since joining Riot in 2022, Maria has guided the opening ceremonies at LoL Worlds featuring performances from Linkin Park, Lil Nas X, NewJeans, and Jackson Wang. She also oversaw Arcane season 2’s star-studded soundtrack, helped make the virtual brand HEARTSTEEL a reality, and worked with Porter Robinson for “Everything Goes On” during a Star Guardian event.
Before Riot, Maria served as the Chief Music Officer at Splice, where she led the company’s partnerships with artists, defined their global music strategy, and served as Chair of the DEI Council. She also was President and Head of Creative at Pulse Music Group growing the company into one of the most prominent and diverse independent music publishers.
Maria was featured on Billboard’s “40 Under 40” list in 2017 and Billboard's “Women in Music” in 2018 and 2019. She sits on the LA chapter board of the Recording Academy.
