Founded in 1990, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) champions user privacy, free expression, and innovation through impact litigation, policy analysis, grassroots activism, and technology development. EFF works to ensure that rights and freedoms are enhanced and protected as our use of technology grows.

How we're helping

Riot worked with EFF to create and support a privacy lab specifically designed to generate cutting-edge research on combatting emerging tracking technologies through super cookies, fingerprinting, and other forms of tracking through the support of the browser plug-in, Privacy Badger.

Privacy Badger uses algorithmic methods to automatically analyze and block 3rd parties that track an individual’s browsing history from dubious tracking scripts. Through this privacy lab, EFF has improved the reach, performance, usability of the Privacy Badger extension.
