What they do
headspace is the Australian youth mental health foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young people's wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services. Information and services for young people, their families and friends as well as health professionals can be accessed through headspace's website, centers throughout Australia, online and telephone counseling service eheadspace, their "Digital Work and Study Service", and their work with the headspace in schools project.
How we're helping
A 2017 League of Legends player research study showed that the number one value for Oceanic players is good mental health and wellbeing. The goal of this collaboration is to raise awareness of the tips and advice available on how to maintain a healthy mind, as well as letting young people know there is help available in-person, online, or by phone through headspace.
"With the OPL we have an opportunity to provide our players and viewers with information from headspace that can make a real difference to their lives, and those closest to them. The OPL broadcast is a great avenue for headspace to share advice and resources that can support young players and esports fans across Australia." - Daniel Ringland, Head of Riot Esports Australia
