Hoby Darling is the President of Riot Games, where he partners with Rioters across the globe to unlock bold creativity, build high-impact teams, and amplify our commitment to serving players first.
Before joining Riot, Hoby spent his career at the intersection of sports, tech, and creative culture leading brands known for pushing creative and performance boundaries. Most recently, he was a member of the Logitech global executive leadership team including co-founding a new division within Logitech that focused on esports, creators, and the future of play.
Before that, he held senior leadership positions at Nike, Skullcandy/Astro Gaming, and Volcom. As a senior leader at Nike, he helped shape the future of sport in both IRL and URL worlds, sparked athlete-led innovation, and worked with Nike-portfolio companies like Converse and Cole Haan. As CEO of Skullcandy and Astro Gaming, he brought together gaming, music, art, and action sports into one cultural force while scaling Astro into a global leader in premium gaming gear. As an executive leader at Volcom, he helped grow a rebellious skate/snow/surf brand into a global lifestyle brand.
Outside of work, Hoby is a diehard performance nerd and still thinks he can run a 5:30 minute mile and hold his breath for 5 minutes (results pending). His all-time favorite games are Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, Legends of Zelda, and Mortal Kombat—safe to say he’s stoked for 2XKO. He’s currently slow-grinding his way toward his goal of being a 1,000 hour VALORANT player…but has a long way to go.
