For the last three years we’ve partnered with DonorsChoose, an education nonprofit. For those same three years, Faker and T1 have won League of Legends Worlds. Coincidence? Probably.
There’s only one way to find out: we’d better test it again.
This year, we’re making our partnership with DonorsChoose the biggest yet by committing $500,000 to the campaign. With the 2026 League of Legends World Championship traveling across North America, we’re committed to fully funding eligible gaming and esports projects on DonorsChoose across the three states hosting Worlds: California, Texas, and New York.

We’ll start in California, where the Play-In Stage takes place at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles. As Worlds moves to Allen, Texas, for the Swiss Stage, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals, we’ll fund eligible projects from teachers across the Lone Star State. Then we’ll wrap things up in New York, where the last two teams will face off in the Worlds Final at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Here are the dates we’ll be fully funding eligible projects in each state:
California: October 12, 2026
Texas: October 19, 2026
New York: November 9, 2026
With any remaining funds at the end of the campaign we’ll launch a donation matching campaign on December 1, Giving Tuesday, where we’ll match donations to gaming and esports related projects across the country.
DonorsChoose is an education nonprofit ensuring every US public school student has the classroom resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Educators request the materials they know their students need, and donors can choose the classroom, community, or cause they want to support. In recent years, fundraising requests and projects related to gaming have risen 126% as more schools create esports programs, bring coding into the curriculum, and use games as a way to teach students about a variety of subjects. Since 2023, Riot Games, with the help of players, has funded over $1 million in gaming and esports-related resources for nearly 1,000 public school teachers across 49+ states impacting over 110,000 students.
At Worlds, no one wins alone. The same is true in the classroom. We hope these projects help students connect their passion for games with learning, build new skills, and create stronger communities at school.
