Hey everyone! I’m Tom, executive producer of Riot’s upcoming 2v2 tag-based fighting game, here to give you a quick overview of some of the things we have lined up for 2024.

First things first: we have a name! Project L is now officially 2XKO. After spending most of 2023 in heads-down mode, we’re finally ready to share more with you—and get you more hands-on play time. So we thought it was time we got on a first-name (...first-number?) basis.

What’s next for us, then? In 2024 we want to hear more from you, the fighting game community, to make sure we’re bringing you the best game possible at launch and beyond. Here’s what we have planned so far:

  • Throughout the year, we’ll be hosting playable demos across the world, including at Evo Japan in April. If you’re in the area, come tell us what you think!

  • We’re going to be talking a lot more on our social channels, sharing in-development work that we want your takes on. Whether it’s gameplay, art, music, or something else, let us know what you want to see and who you want to hear from.

  • We’re also hoping to start at-home playtesting before the end of the year. If you wanna participate, you can sign up right now over on our website.

We’re also excited to announce that we’re aiming to fully launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC in 2025.

We’ve come a long way since the game was first announced, thanks in large part to all of you. We can’t wait to enter this next chapter of development and get you more involved in the making of the game.

In the meantime, head on over to our website to register for playtests, and be sure to follow our new social channels (we’re @Play2XKO pretty much everywhere) for all future updates and announcements.

Thanks, and talk more soon!

Tom
